Urban Green  22229 Brown Avenue, Maple Ridge BC

Urban Green is a Seniors Residential Campus.  Norman S. Jones Architectural Corporation was hired to design a three-phased Seniors living environment that would enhance an enjoyable retirement and permit a dignified “aging in place”. The buildings are being designed to provide an accommodation suitable for independent living, supportive/assisted living, and potentially a level of care to sustain residents in these homes for the rest of their lives. The interface with the public streets, which is quite limited, has been designed to present a residential façade close to Brown Avenue, with a welcoming entrance to the entire project that takes into consideration both pedestrian and vehicular access to the site. The character and scale of the surrounding buildings which are impacted by the site development has been addressed with the massing and façade treatments of the proposed buildings, and the landscape setbacks and fence screening to the adjacent sites. Existing trees bordering the property lines will be retained wherever possible.

The three buildings represented in this multi-phased project are all residential in character. The building massing, the form and modulations have been planned to create a residential scale suitable to the community as a whole, and to the neighbours in particular. The buildings themselves contain many amenity areas consistent with the lifestyle and needs of the residents in this planned community.

This project is currently being prepared for Building Permit Application.
