Sunridge Place, Community of Care is Jones Corporate Groups' latest venture.  This is a community of Seniors housing with all levels of care from Independent Living (an effort in conjunction with Independent Living BC (ILBC), Jones Corporate Group and The Ahmon Group, a licensed Seniors Care Provider) to full care for Physical and Mentally challenged patients in need of higher levels of specific care (an effort in conjunction with Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), Jones Corporate Group and The Ahmon Group).

This project is the response chosen by the Vancouver Island Health Authority and Independent Living BC in their recent proposal call, to satisfy the needs of the Duncan and Cowichan Valley area. It is intended to be residential in character and scale, and although the land designation is institutional, this is required for land use purposes only and it is hoped that the facility will be anything but institutional in character. It is our desire to involve the community wherever possible in the ongoing programs of the residence.

The Arbours is a series of family sized residential pods of approximately 10 units each that will be interconnected by an internal street. Each of these pods will have staff related to that pod and reinforcing the family nature of each group of residents.

There is a central entrance pod that contains the kitchen and service facility which provides meals, laundry and maintenance services to the facility as a whole. It also contains the common meeting areas and administrative centre.

The courtyards between the pods will be landscaped with both hard and soft landscaping and will be a private quiet area for the adjacent residents.

The internal residential street has varying floor textures and patterns, differentiating ceiling areas, indoor landscaping, and indoor street lighting. In addition, it features seating and rest areas and artwork. As well, there are intermittent balcony areas overlooking the landscaped courtyards.

Each pod entry from the internal street is styled after a single family residence, with residential entry doors and architecturally selected materials. Thus, each resident will feel that they live in something like a single family home along a village street.

The Meadows is a four (4) storey residential apartment building for the assisted living with full access to the internal street as well as its own dining room and activity rooms for regularly scheduled exercise and entertainment activities.

Sunridge Place is now open and will be fully occupied by early August 2008.
